Membership Information

We have no auditions. Have you played in a high school or college band and want to continue, or return to an instrument you haven't played for a few years because of work or family? We have a full range of abilities in our group, and play music which will challenge and interest everyone. Our recent repertoire can be found in on our home page. Many people hone their skills here, or keep their advanced skills sharp. Rank beginners would have a tough time. Our members run from late teens through retired folk. Everyone is welcome.

Rehearsals are Thursday nights from generally from the first week of September through the first week of June. Rehearsals start sharply at 6:50 PM and end at 8:50 PM. Plan about 20 minutes extra time to set up and tune. We have about 5 or 6 concerts a year with the last in the first or second week of June, and then take a break for the summer. We expect members to attend rehearsals regularly in order to play in concerts.

Requested dues/tax deductible donation are $80/year, $40/half year. Please make your check out to the Seward Concert Band and give it to our Treasurer, Chris Elder (Trumpet) at rehearsal. We highly recommend you get a tuner/metronome if you don't already have one and bring it to rehearsals. A nice one can be found at Amazon.com but choose whatever you like. On occasion a music stand light comes in handy. We don't use them very often, but when you need one, you need it. More details will be emailed when you sign up at your first rehearsal.
